Bump Cap Hard Hats

Bump caps can be used when protection from top and side impact is not needed and are generally worn by workers in confined spaces, crawl spaces, or near overhead piping. Bump caps can help reduce exposure to lacerations and abrasions caused by minor bumps to the head. Bump caps are not safety helmets and do not meet OSHA or ANSI/ISEA Z89.1 requirements.
About Bump Caps
The difference between bump caps vs. hard hats
Hard hats are designed to protect from an object falling onto the worker, or when a worker could be hit by a flying object. Hard hats are most commonly worn on construction and utility jobsites.
In contrast, bump caps protect the wearer from minor head bumps and lacerations, not from falling or flying objects. These injuries are likely to occur in industries like manufacturing, warehousing, transportation and other services where workers often find themselves maneuvering in tight spaces. You should use bump caps when there is a risk of impact between the head and stationary objects such as low ceilings, the underside of a vehicle and overhead piping.
Universal bump cap inserts
Bump cap inserts can be placed inside any regular baseball cap, essentially turning your favorite hat into head protection.
Are Bump Caps ANSI Certified?
Bump caps are not safety helmets and do not meet OSHA or ANSI/ISEA Z89.1 requirements. DO NOT use bumps caps for impact protection or when an ANSI-compliant helmet is required.
